<p>They have to accept in-staters that are not top ten percent to reach their quota for a Texas public school (because not all top ten percenters go to UT). So with that damn good SAT score and close proximity to the top of your class, I def think you’re in UT Austin. Maybe I’ll see you there!</p>

<p>It is my understanding that UT is under no obligation to accept instaters after it admits instater students in the top 8%. You are going to roll with the rest of them (including my son) for those seats. They will be looking to add diversity, out of staters, internationals, atheletes and URMs etc.</p>
<p>So how many in state will they accept after taking in 8%?</p>
<p>There’s no way of knowing for sure, but from what I see I’d say you’re most likely in.</p>
