Chance me at UW-Madison Engineering School

University of Wisconsin Madison is one of my top schools and I applied as an engineering student, just want to get an idea of my chances. Currently a senior at my high school.

ACT: 26 composite
31 Reading
25 Math
21 English
26 Science
8 Writing sub-score

GPA and rank: Unweighted: 3.56/ 78th percentile
Weighted: 5.45/ 86th Percentile

AP Classes and scores: Chemistry 4, Spanish Lang 4, English Lang 3, AP English Lit and Biology (Taking these two this year.)

Class Difficulty: Always have taken the hardest classes available, I even created an independent study for Organic Chemistry; this is the second year of college chemistry.

EC’s: Lacrosse four years, Captain for one year
Football two years
Choir two years, sectional leader two years
Job at TJ Maxx one year
Medical Charity Club, two years
National Honor Society two years, chairman of events two years
Engineering Inquiry with Superior Pump Inc.

Awards: Sportsmanship Award x2
Spanish Student of the term at my school
Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy English/Spanish
District Science Fair 2nd place

Although I am not a student there, I did apply there as a high school senior and back in my day, you would have had a decent chance. However, I have not been keeping up to date on how the stats have changed over the past four years. I do think that Wisconsin may be a bit of a reach school for you. The unweighted GPA carries more weight than the weighted one because that is the one that is less likely to differ by school. Your ACT is definitely not in a safe spot, although I’m not saying that your score will automatically get your application screened out.

Thanks for replying, I received my decision and currently am a postponed applicant. I have submitted my midterm grades and am currently waiting for my second decision.
