No leadership.): Its really a popularity/friend contest. I will talk to the Student Council sponsor because she loves me [for being so involved] about being an officer. I'll also ask some of the other leaders of the clubs if there was a possibility I can get leadership since I was so involved.

Clearly I love community service/helping out.

I'm planning on tutoring kids from Poland who don't speak English well and just kids who need the tutoring in general.

Sophomore Year: AP US
Junior Year: AP Psychology, AP Human Geography, AP English Lang, AP Biology
Senior Year: AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Extended Physics Lab, AP Microeconomics, + maybe AP Government

First generation college.

Will join a sport but applying in December leaves only two sports that would be played before apps.

The only thing holding you back at this point is your ACT. If you can score a 32+, you will be a very competitive applicant. Good luck!

The raw numbers are what they look at first, so getting your ACT up will dramatically improve your chances.

“No leadership.): Its really a popularity/friend contest”

While most likely accidental, you did admit you are not the most popular nor do you have the most friends. Don’t put anything like that in your application. Vanderbilt tends to like accepting social people.

LOL I do have friends, friends that wouldn’t be caught dead in the building after school.

I LOVEEEEE VANDERBILT. It makes me happy when they send me stuff.<3

If you’re going to a 1000+ student per class school around Chicago, I can take a pretty good stab at what school you’re at … and either way, they’re all very highly ranked schools. You’ll be a competitive applicant, though as other people have mentioned, try to raise your ACT score. Also make sure you get good recs (ask early) and think long and hard about your essay. Those are actually more important (according to UChicago at least) than the scores. Oh, and make sure you do well first semester.

You go to New Trier, right?

LOL! I know it gives it away + my username. Lilshowstoppa: Nope, in Chicago.(:

Just so no one thinks I’m crazy. The “I LOVEEEEE VANDERBILT. It makes me happy when they send me stuff.<3” thing was to bump it in a unique way ■■■■■.
