Hey guys! I'm new to CC and I was just going through some of the chance me threads and I just wanted to see where I stand. I do not have my head in the clouds and know where I stand as an applicant, but some outside opinions would be appreciated. I'm tough so be honest :D. Here goes...

-Chess Club President (4 year member, 2 year president)
-Created a Chess program with an elementary school in which I teach underprivileged students how to play
-2nd Degree Black Belt in Kendo (6-7 year member)
-Created a Kendo Program at my church in which I teach the basics of Kendo after services

-Junior Ambassador. I served as a guide for college reps that visited my high school. Mildly important at our school. Application process involved, but not quite selective
-Soup Kitchen work from 9th-10th grade (usual stuff)
-Went to Mexico on a mission trip where I built houses for impoverished families, invited both adults and children to an event where we rid their hair of lice and gave out food.
-Advanced Level Certificate of Merit for Piano (7 years of piano)
-Asia Club VP (4 year member, VP as senior)
Awards:
-AP Scholar
-National Merit Commended
-Few tournament placements in Kendo (Biggest was state-wide)
-1st place in national chess tournament as a school team
That's about it folks. I am also applying to: UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, USC (Marshall), NYU (Stern), Lehigh, Pomona, Pepperdine, Occidental.
- My Common App was about my father abandoning my mother and me after his business failed. (Gist of it) He left us in tons of debt and I talked about how I remember him threatening my mom after he left our home. I went on to say that I wanted to be everything he was not and connected my EC's. It is pretty well written.
-Why UPenn supplement was about their emphasis on having a positive impact on the world. So I talked about their programs and courses and how they already relate to the things I've done in my local area. Decently well written, but because I haven't read many others, I don't know how it stands.

UPenn Wharton ED: Reach
Berkeley Haas: Match/High match (Haas has an average high school GPA of ~3.85-3.9 UW)
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Low match/Match
UCSB: Low match
USC Marshall: Match/High match
NYU Stern: Match/High match (poor financial aid)
Pomona: Reach
Lehigh: Match
Pepperdine: Low match
Occidental: Low match

Thanks! Anyone have any more feedback?
