Chance me at Williams, Amherst, and such please! i will chance back ASAP!

Hey folks, i know that i posted this almost exact same thread for chance me at yale, but it seems like that school is impossible for me to get into.. so here are some of my other tops choices.. let me know please and i will chance you back ASAP

*Williams, Amherst, Davidson, Swarthmore, and Bucknell *

anyway, here goes nothing:

my parents and i are from hungary, i have a dual citizenship and I am currently a high school junior.... I have a 4.0 GPA UW ( we don't have weighted). I go to private school in the north east

my classes this year:

AP US history
Honors Pre- Calc
English - american lit ( regular, it's my second language)
French IV
Photo II
and Physics ( not very impressive i know, but i have A's in all of my classes )

classes for next year: Senior year:

AP Government and Politics
AP Calculus AB
AP Photography ( 2 - D design)
French V
AP lang and composition (taking a stab at it. hopefully will look great since it's my second language)

my GPA thus far for H.S. is a 93% but with my grades this year i think it will improve to a 95% or so ( hope this is another benefit)

Sports

Varsity football freshman year ( until i got injured)
Lacrosse - 2 years
Soccer - 2 years until i injured my ankle (captain of JV)

SAT II's

US History
Math I
1 more maybe?

I've taken the ACT once and i got a 27, but that was without studying at all. i plan to beef it up to a 33 or 34 ( i'm retaking it again in a few months) and actually study this time ( didn't hav teh correct calculator, so i couldn't use it - stupid i know, but i've used the ti-89 for every single standardized test since 7th grade.. go figure that it was "illegal" for the ACT)

Groups/ Achievments

National honor Society
Community Service Award
Honors Algebra 2 with trig award
Honors Pre- Calc award
our school gives out books given to outstanding students with recognition from colleges - i received one.

Community Service board ( 4 years)
Environmental club (4 years)
Model UN ( 2 years)

i have over 1,000 community service hours alone just from working in Hungary during the summer to help out children in need. ( i sincerely hope this will be a big thing for me!)

Thanks everyone for taking the time to look at my thread, and i will chance you back ASAP if you give me a link

I think you would probably get into Davidson
You might get into Bucknell, though a 27 ACT is below their 50% so better get that up
Amherst would be a reach for you, I think

The others I know nothing about. Could you possibly post your GPA thus far? I could give you a more accurate chance then. BTW, could you chance me?

i will chance yours in just a minute, our school doesn’t post GPA til the end, but i’ve calculated all my grades to be roughly a 93 or 94 % throughout my entire high school up to this point.

yeah dw, i relaly didn’t study or prepare for the first ACt, and didn’t have access to my calculator… so i think i should improve it to 30 - 32 roughly.

I just checked Amherst’s site, and a 32 is their average ACT. With that or higher, and such a good GPA, you probably have a fair chance.

Good luck, and thanks for chancing me.

At the moment, I would say that you have a chance at Davidson. I don’t know about Bucknell. The rest are going to be difficult because they are the top LAC in the country. They are all pretty big reaches with a 27 ACT, but you can improve it if you didn’t have a calculator on the first test. Good luck!

Williams/Amherst-Reach
The rest-Match

Good Luck!

Williams-low reach
Amherst-low reach
all others-match

i think you’re scores are a little “medicore” for those schools. other than that, your grades look good and ec are few, but strong.

chance me back.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/857536-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html

sounds great, thanks everyone!

as for ACt prep, i know that’s a different subject. but i have the 1296 practice questions, so i will get through that before my April ACT… what else can i do? i really want to get into these great schools!! and i hope tht i have a solid record for them

the community service alone should make u stand out. i think amherst and williams- 50/50 and the rest are guaranteed

thanks guest3214… i appreciate it. i chanced yours, but you need to fill in some more info for a better analysis

since all these schools have an holistic admissions process, I think you have a great chance, considering your transcript and partially your ECs, although Amherst and Williams will have a lot of similar applicants but with higher standardized tests scores. Your way to go would probably be demonstrated interest at this point. Retake the SAT or ACT and try to expand on your ECs.

Chance me too!
