I’m currently a Junior, and am beginning to establish schools I’d like to apply to. Please chance me, offer other schools you may suggest, and just offer advice when beginning the college process! Thanks
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 1500 (750s on both sections)
SAT II: Will take Math 2, Spanish, and Literature next month - I predict I’ll get 700+ on all
Weighted GPA: 4.65 (school doesn’t do unweighted)
AP/IB: I’ve taken all AP/IB classes, although will not be taking any tests until next months. I predict I’ll get mostly 4s and 5s on AP Lang, AP Comp Sci, AP Spanish, and a few others.
Also, I take Spanish classes at my local university (CU) because I went through all the Spanish at my High school
Awards: Nothing major, just awards in Varsity Debate, and Model UN
Subjective:
Extracurriculars:
Model UN 3 years, (Director of Fundraising) Junior year, and will be (President) next year
Young Democrats 3 years, (Director of Communications) Junior (this) year, and will be (President) next year
Varsity Debate (captain)- 2 years
Intern with the Democratic Party in my county- worked on local house rep’s campaign, local senators campaign, and HRC’s campaign (was for about 6 months)
Intern with the American Political Science Research Lab - a lab at the local university - University of Colorado - where I helped do research with professors from the University
I really have a large focus on politics and want to major in Poli Sci and I.R.
Volunteer/Community service:
Volunteer at a local community center helping to tutor and educate low-income Hispanic youth
Essays: N/a
Other
State (if domestic applicant): CO
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Gender: Male
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM- Hispanic
I’m thinking of applying to: Williams, Amherst, Georgetown, American, Wesleyan, Brown (possible ED), Claremont Mckenna, and Harvard
Thought of any others worth considering?I feel like most of the schools I am looking at will be difficult for me to get in to.
