<p>I am an international student.</p>

<p>Can you guy give me some suggestions and comments base on my stats ? Also please suggest me some more schools that I should take a look at.</p>

<p>Intended major: Economics, sociology, anthropology</p>

<p>Prefer: <7,000 students, on East Coast or CA, not super rural ( Right now Financial aid is the most important factor)</p>

<p>Dream schools: Yale, Dartmouth, MIT
Reach: Bowdoin, Brandeis, Pomona, Vassar, Lafayette, Hamilton
Match: St. Lawrence, Franklin and Marshall, Sarah Lawrence</p>

<p>9th grade GPA: 8.0/10 (it's considered A where I went to)</p>

<p>My GPA in sophomore year was 9.2/10</p>

<p>Junior year GPA: 4.0 (unweighted, my school does not have weighted GPA)
No ranking but I think I am in top 5%</p>

<p>Repeating junior year to fulfill graduation requirement at a really rigorous private school (I changed school this year due to visa problem, long story)</p>

<p>SAT is 2100. SAT II will be Math II and Bio: hope will be 700 at least</p>

Do you have any leadership experience?</p>

<p>Your matches seem realistic and if you are male that might help you at Vassar. Otherwise, IMHO your reaches are big reaches and the “dream school” are aptly labeled.</p>

<p>Needing aid is going to hurt you. Might have a chance at those less selective schools.</p>

<p>English is my 1st foreign language and I had taken at school before I came to US for 10 years.</p>

<p>I was the President of the Youth Union at my high school back in my country. It’s the official student organization that you have to be elected to get in. It’s a serious thing because it is not just a normal student organization but has a little bit of political in it.</p>

<p>So what schools do you guy think I have a good shot at ? What should I do to improve my chance ??</p>

<p>As an international student requiring financial aid, you’re chances drastically reduce for a lot of colleges. </p>

<p>However, your list looks pretty reasonable.</p>

<p>If I get like a 3 or lower in my AP Physics exam, will it pretty much blow my chance of getting into top schools away ?</p>

<p>what you get on your AP tests will not affect your getting into a school, just save you money you would otherwise have to spend on taking the physics course. schools look at the rigorous schedule you put yourself through in high school. take a look at the collegeboard website and compare yourself to the places you want to get into. & keep in mind that your extracurriculars could help, too.</p>
