Senior, public high school. NJ

30/240 Class rank

Transcript says GPA: 4.54 on a 4.5 weighted scale.

SAT: 1750, R-590, Math-580, W-580 (Took second time last week)

AP: Junior Year- APUSH
Senior- AP Comp, AP Calc, AP Physics

Rest of classes are honors besides electives

25hrs/week job

Colleges I'll probably apply to:
RIT, TCNJ, Rutgers, Drexel, Pratt, Rowan, Ithaca.

Major in: Design/Multimedia Communications, Video post production

Drexel, Rutgers, Ithaca: match
Rowan: safety
RIT, TCNJ: high match/Low reach with current SAT, match if SAT scores are higher

How much higher is higher?

Would a superscore of ~1850 be good enough? And should I use one of my free 4 scores from this October’s test for RIT?

1850-1900.

If you have high financial need (which I figure from the fact you work 25hrs/week but may be wrong) look into schools that meet 100% need.

Shoot for 2000+ on the SAT and you could be applying to much better schools.

Schools that meet 100% need:
[100% Meet Need Colleges | CollegeGreenlight](<a href=“Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students”>Colleges with Need-Blind Admission for U.S. Students)
If you get 1850-1900, you could apply to
Gettysburg
Macalester
Pitzer
St Olaf
Trinity College
These colleges would not be “matches” but they’re really good schools and they’d totally be within reach, so if you got admitted to one it may end up costing you less than your current options tha tmay or may not meet need. A downside is that you’re looking for a very specific major and I don’t know whether these colleges offer it.
The best school for you based on what you want to major in is Ithaca, of course. Look into the SUNy’s too since they do’t charge outrageous OOS fees, but once again as public universities they won’t meet need for OOS applicants.

Got the 10/5 scores back. 1890. 1920 super score now.
