<p>CHANCE ME BABY ONE MORE TIME FOR UNIVERSITY of FLORIDA
Rising senior, white female, from PA (must apply OOS)
Unweighted gpa:3.7
weighted UF gpa: 3.8 (I know it's low but our valedictorian last year only had a weighted gpa of 4.2 and it may have been an even lower UF gpa. My school does not offer honors and APs can only be taken senior year.)
My ACT is extremely low right now at a 22 however Ive been studying since June and should be able to manage a 26. I take the test again September 21.
Ive taken the hardest courses available at my high school.
Im 16 out of 73
Ill have 26 academic courses by the time I graduate.
700 community service hours(mostly at hospital and therapeutic riding center).
Leadership role as board member, scheduler, secretary, and trainer at local hospital I volunteer at.
I was a secretary in 10th grade for Art club.</p>

<p>Club and ECs I'll be applying with(if you want to read)
Horse back riding for 2 years.
Im in NHS and received two awards for my community service.
Envirorthon(Biology quiz club)- 3 years(will be president senior year)
Art club- 2 years (was secretary for a year)
Leo Club- 3 years
Students in action- 3 years (Its also a leadership role because I represent the club, there are only 2 people per class.)
Stage crew- 3 years Was assistant stage manager Junior year. (I should be stage manager my senior year.)</p>

<p>Work: Worked for 25 hours a week since I was 15. Ive been employed at my second job for over a year now.
My essay should also be very promising, ive been revising it for a while now!
Sooo.. Chance me for University of Florida? PLEASE!!!</p>

<p>A couple of things…</p>

<p>If your dad has been a resident of Florida for over 12 months, and is a legal guardian, you should be able to apply as in-state, even though you went to high school in PA.</p>

<p>With UF’s holistic admission process, 50% is GPA/Class Rigor/Test, while 50% is EC’s/Leadership/Essay. With a good essay, you’ve done great with the latter 50%! That just leaves GPA/Rigor/Test.</p>

<p>UF puts more focus on GPA/Rigor than test scores, so lets talk about these…</p>

<p>Middle 50% of the Class</p>

<p>◾High School GPA of 4.0 - 4.4

:black_medium_small_square:ACT of 27 - 29</p>

<p>UF will take into account what classes are available at your high school when determining class rigor. Since it’s an out of state school, you should make it a point, in the Family and Personal Resume section, to explain that you took the more rigorous courses available at your school. The “Additional Info” section would be a good spot. UF has redone the app, so when it’s released in September, look for any other spot in the new app to point this out.</p>

<p>As long as you took the most rigorous classes available at your high school, you’re GPA should be fine (better than fine). UF will not penalize you for not being able to take AP/DE/IB/AICE type classes.</p>

<p>That leaves your test scores. Remember, GPA was more important, but still, you need to shot for a 27 on the ACT. With a 27, I would think your a MATCH! :)</p>

<p>If you get a 25 or lower, UF would be a reach, so study for that ACT.</p>
