What do you think my chances are?
The schools I'd really like to be admitted to are Wake, Tulane, Vandy, SMU and Clemson.
I realize my GPA isn't super high, nor is my SAT. Also, I know that I will have a difficult time with admission seeing as I am OOS. Thanks! :]

p.s. I’d like to major in Pre-Law or Sociology.

Your own predictions are pretty much right on except UNC would go to reach.

What about Miami, do you feel that would be a reach as well?

Yeah, on second thought UofMiami would also be a reach but a much much much lower reach than the others. If you raise your SAT over 2000 you stand a better chance.

If I raise my GPA, what do you think my chances are of getting into Tulane and Wake? Thanks so much for your help!

for tulane you need to raise your sat scores, wake needs a gpa at least around a 3.7 to be competitive.

Wake(possibly): getting your gpa up would help here, especially bc test scores are optional… however you dont seem to have the kind of ecs that would overcome weaknesses in other areas of the application. still if you apply to any of your reaches, apply to Wake especially if it will be ED.

The same goes for Tulane but for Tulane it’s not just your gpa that must go up but also your SAT.

Keep in mind that in general your class rank is more important than your gpa because it shows your performance in the context of your high school. If you can get yourself into the top 10% you improve your chances significantly.

Thanks so much for all the help! As far as schools like Clemson, SMU, and BAMA do I have fairly solid chances of getting in there? Also, are Auburn and Ole Miss good safetys? Thanks again!
