I applied a few weeks ago and my stats are:
SAT- 1390 (out of 2400), however i am retaking it again in a week.
ACT - 19
GPA - 5.9 out of 7 (our school goes by a 7 scale)
I am in the Top 10 % of my class
Rank is - 44/566

I have also taken 3 AP classes (Biology, Stats, Psychology) and im doing well in all 3 as of right now...

I am also in a science honors club and have done a little community service for 2 school clubs.
What are my chances? Thanks.

What’d you get on AP’s. Also, perhaps you should aim for a higher ACT score, seeing as its relatively better than your SAT one; check conversion tables. Never even heard of Baylor U, but why not apply to state colleges too?

Im taking those APs currently, so i will take the AP test in a few months. I also signed up for another SAT so i will try it one last time and hopefully get a high score!

I would say sign up for the act n get like a 25 n u should be fine but your sat would at least need to be a 1600 at the minimum.

I dont want to downplay anything here but its Baylor…you’ll get it. Dont worry.

then let me ask you this: Baylor rejects 50% of its applicants. If a 1390 3 part SAT / 19 ACT is safe, whom do they reject?

Baylor’s 25% SAT is 1590. Baylor’s 25% ACT is 23. I’ll bet almost the entire bottom 25% is either hardship/URM/Athlete.

OP, you might get in on the strength of your top 10% class rank. If I were an adcom, I’d look up your HS and understand what that rank means. If only 20% of your HS goes on to a 4 year college, than that class rank actually doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that you rose to the top of a very limited cohort.

OP, if there is a reason for your low SAT and ACT scores (i.e. just learning English), that would be good to know. English can improve quickly over a year or two, but the ability to critically reason, which is what the SAT measures, is not so easily acquired.
