Hi! I’m a high school senior and my top schools are Boston College and George Washington University. If you could chance me, I would be extremely grateful!

I am an Asian female from CT. I plan on majoring in Biomed Engineering or Biochemistry with a minor in Spanish and a possible minor in Studio Art.
GPA: 3.80 UW
Class Rank: My school doesn’t rank but I think I would put myself in the top 20%. My class is very competitive.
Recommendations: I have two academic letters and one EC letters. I chose teachers who know me well so I think they wrote me decent letters.
Standardized test scores: My SAT super-score is a 2010. CR: 670 Math: 720 Writing: 620.
I only took the ACT once and my composite was a 30.
Essays: I’ve had my personal read over by my English teacher and she said she loved it! (she’s hard to impress so I thought it was a great compliment haha). But it’s about my heritage and relationship with my grandfather. My teacher thought it showed my character well.
EC: Mock Trial: sophomore, junior and senior year - there aren’t any leadership positions but I played the witness all three years and we’ve moved onto Semi finals each year.
Unified Jazz - founded senior year! I play piano with disabled adults.
Indoor/Outdoor Track all four years
Student Council: VP freshman and sophomore year. Senator junior and senior year
Relay for Life: all four years - I am now a senior leader.
Yearbook - all four years - I’m designing the cover this year and I’m a co-chief editor
School Newspaper and Literary Magazine - this is my first year but I write, take photos, and draw.
Model UN
Volunteering:
I do ConnectiKids at my school all four years - I sit one on one with a second grader and help them out with homework
I also volunteered at a hospital my sophomore year for 70 hours.
Alumni relations: I have one uncle who went to BC.

My biggest concern are my scores. I know they’re very low. Any constructive criticism would be great! I would love any input on how to improve my application.

You have a good chance for GW. They do track interest- have you visited?

You have a better shot at Villanova, which in many ways is similar to BC. Villanova has a pretty solid undergraduate engineering school.

TurnerT - thanks for replying! I am actually applying to Villanova as well. Do you think there’s anything I could do to increase my chances at BC? My GPA isn’t the best but my grades have significantly gone upward senior year.

I think your test scores are the issue with BC but you are in the mix.

Villanova may be the better choice though.

Did you apply to Bucknell, Lehigh or Lafayette?

Turner T - I’m really so awful at taking standardized tests!
I looked at all three and I’m considering Lafayette. Bucknell and Lehigh seem out of my reach.

Bucknell may be a smart risk given your gender and race. There is no writing supplement either.

It looks better to me than BC.
