I definitely think that the volunteering at your hospital will help a lot with admissions. Your stats are pretty good lol, mine are pretty much the same. I heard somewhere that apparently BC doesn’t look so much at gpa because there are so many different systems in different schools but don’t trust me on that. I’m visiting this weekend tho so I’ll probably ask. Are u applying ED or RD?
^^BC definitely looks at GPA in the context of the HS, i.e., class rank, or Class Profile. Top decile helps, as does being a URM. (Being a guy might even be a small plus for the Ed & Nursing schools, but that is just pure speculation on my part.)
That being said, the schools of Nursing & Education also require appropriate EC’s…
Good luck to you both.
You better raise that SAT. I think that is a big negative. Look at average scores for the school. 1220 doesn’t cut it. My daughter is nursing soph. She and her colleagues had ACT’s in 30’s. FYI…
Being a male is a positive. 3 or 4 guys in a class of about 105. FYI.
GOOD LUCK.
Chance me for nursing at BC please?
33 ACT / 4.5 weighted / ranked top 2%
AP Scholar with honor. Lots of science classes including AP Bio and AP Chem.
Lots of leadership. CNA.
Great common app essay. Don’t know about recs but assume good. Public high school in MA. Father is a BC grad.
You are a competitive applicant. Only 100 spots so the competition is strong but I really like your profile and legacy preference won’t hurt. I would use an Ed round to help if you can.
Over 80% of BC admissions are in top 10% of graduating class. Aver ACT is 32-33. You definitely need to raise your scores.
My d is a soph. also, Nursing very competitive, even for men. BC will be a reach for you unless you get the test score UP.
