<p>hey guys im a hispanic junior and im trying to see if i have the stats that could possibly lead up to an acceptance to (Harvard,Cornell, JHU,Columbia...and such)...just evaulate thanks</p>

<p>Stats:
SAT: 2150-2250
SAT IIs: ive only taken math 2- 750...gonna take chem and us history at the end of the school year- Expecting a range on both from 750-800
GPA: 3.8 uw
Rank: don't rank... extremely competitive school in long island,ny</p>

<p>Currently taking 2 AP's/rest honors and will take 5 or so next year (calc ab, macro/micro,physics, english)</p>

<p>All honors classes 11th and 12th , made honor roll all of 10th,11th, and most likely 12</p>

<p>Going to be taking the AMC12 in january or so...im really not sure how im gonna do because i dont really know about the AMC but my school invited me to take the test ...so im expecting to do okay
ECS:
President of the Astronomy Club ( conducted astronomy night at my school, conduct observing sessions every other week)
Secretary of Model Congress ( competed 2 years at Yale Model Congress, 1 year Harvard, 1 year UPenn.)
4 year member of mathletes
Website club
200-250 hours volunteering at LIJ Medical Center
Currently working as administrative assistant at New Age Skin Research Foundation
Attended Johns Hopkins CTY 9th grade
Attended Cornell University Summer College 10th grade
Going to attend one of the following: Caltech YESS program, Columbia Summer program, or Garcia Research summer program at Polytechnic in New York
Master Guide of Seventh Day Adventist "Pathfinders" organization, kind of like a huge youth organization for my denomination.Master guide is the highest rank you can achieve.</p>

<p>Other Factors:Im pretty sure im gonna get either National Merit Finalist/semifinalist, Parents are both immigrants: dad from Egypt, Mom from Peru. im gonna say extremely humble beginnings but im not exactly sure if thats a factor in admissions.
Hook (if any): Hispanic i guess.? some research stuff as well

School Type: extremely competitive public...last year about the top 10-12% of about 400-500 kids in the graduating class went to ivy league and a couple of other went to places like Stanford, MIT,etc.
Ethnicity: Hispanic/Arabic but im pretty sure saying only hispanic will give me an edge
Gender: m</p>

<p>EDIT: i have a serious upward trend in my high school transcript (grades wise, and class rigor wise)</p>

<p>sorry but it depresses me and makes me feel really angry and bitter when i see hispanic candidates that i know are going to get into the schools im applying to even when i take harder classes, get better grades, and do better on the SATs</p>

<p>good luck, don't depress us all by asking for your chances...you know you are getting in everywhere</p>

<p>I decided to make a College Confidential Account to reply to this statement. </p>

<p>He works hard, and if he did get into whatever he wants, the main reason will be because he has exceptional credentials and deserve to go to whatever he wants. College don't see the word "hispanic" and slam shut the folder and toss it in the admit pile. ....oh gosh, i hope they don't. :)</p>

<p>So he is born Hispanic, some are born smarter than us or exceptionally well equipped to play football. Should we turn bitter aganist them too?</p>

<p>wow nimtz i thank you for this honest reply...and that is 100% of what i believe...its not as if i could control that i am hispanic...and now that i am hispanic do you (b4nn20) honestly think that i shouldnt play it up in my app...wouldnt yuo>...now if someone else could make an educated chance reply it would be greatlly appreciated.</p>

<p>lol i am kind of playing up the fact i am chineese, and i am scared that the admins will toss my thing in the reject pile the second they see chinese. chill bro. This sounds racist, but its true. you are hispanic. you are in.</p>

<p>hispanic 2200 is equal to a Chinese 2400. Sad but the truth and please don't debate me on this. It was a princeton study.</p>
