chance me, Biology/pharmacology- UCSB

Male
white/chinese
honors student-ccc

3.34gpa

california resident, 3rd year of community college. will end up with list only for some classes.. probably 80ish units by transfer.

done, IGETC, CALC, PHYS, CHEM, BIO sequences
W in Linear-alg this semester I dont plan on retaking either. my standards are now lower!

work 3/4's time at department of fish and game as a scientific aide, likely to be published next month.

part time teaching chess afterschool at elementary schools for years

I am just looking for a major to graduate and a place to surf before applying to a dds program. was thinking pharmacology/biology. taking the OCHEM sequence would allow me to get TAGs to many schools, but I cant stick around another year.

UCSB-first pick
UCSC
UCSD
SLO
USC (many immediate family alumni)

i may be wrong but i’m pretty sure you qualify for TAG at UCSB so you should get in there no problem. i don’t know if bio is impacted there or not though since no one answered that question when i asked it a while ago lol.

The only impacted majors to UCSD (to the best of my knowledge and UCSDs website) for transfer are
Impacted majors for transfer students:
Bioengineering
Bioengineering: Biotechnology

I also thought I would qualify for a TAG at UCSB, for the college of letters and science I have completed everything for a TAG, but at the bottom, in fine print, it says that pharmacology majors need to complete additional classes, which links you to the assist.org website, which tells you that you dont need to complete all of the pre major but it is recommended that you take ochem and physics to graduate in 2 years… Does anyone know for sure?

are you able to just finish the general LS tag for ucsb, get in, then start working on your lower devision pre major, or to tag do you have to go directly into your major?
