I know my GPA isnt ideal with a C+, but I’d like to know my chances at getting into BC since it is my dream school. I’m also wondering if BC has different acceptance rates for each school, since I am applying specifically to their Nursing school. Thanks!
Chances look really good! You’ll have a lot of excellent options when it comes to picking a school and BC will likely be among them if I had to guess. The only potential weakness I see is maybe that your ECs, while VERY strong, don’t necessarily jump off the page nor do they scream “nursing” off the bat, so be sure to come up with a way to tie that in (prob not too hard… I’m sure you’re health/wellness focused). Be sure to write killer essays and remember as you write them the BC motto “men and women for others” (I’m sure as a prospective nursing student you will really mean this).
I don’t know the exact acceptance rate by school, but nursing might be slightly (negligiably?) easier to get into than the rates reported for the school as a whole, though they’ll expect you’ve done well in science courses.
As for the C+, I had two of them and got in with 4 years housing (“top 15 percent of applicants” if that’s actually true… ha). My courseload was more rigorous, though, but test scores were a little lower. Also Hispanic. I think the thing that got me in was my ECs were interesting and focused and aligned with what I want to do. Yours can too if you frame them as such. Of course my case is purely anecdotal and may not represent the “norm.”
In short: you’ve got a great shot. Congrats on your accomplishments thus far and slay senior year (and remember to have fun!).
