Quick question here-I don’t think international students are eligible for NMSF/NMF. Are you a US permanent resident or citizen?
I’m living in the United States, but my parents are in the process of becoming permanent residents (waiting for a green card). So, technically, I’m not a US citizen or permanent resident. I think I qualify for NMSF just because I go to school in the states, but I can’t become a finalist.
I think they use an asterisk on the PSAT score report to distinguish the eligibility. Your score and GPA are definitely within the admission and above average for UMich LSA. International is hard to chance though. If you are considered OOS, it should be a very low reach to very high match for you.
It’ll be tough for you to get into an Ivy as a prospective CS/Math major, even though most are not necessarily renowned for these particular fields. It makes it even harder that you’re an international student.
AIME/USAMO/USACO would boost your app significantly, as a lot of these international kids applying the same major as you have these awards. I’m not familiar with the RIT computing medal: is that prestigious?
Anyway, I’d say Brown is a reach, and I think UMich would be a low reach, with that OOS and international label.
