If you could chance me for Brown that would be great!! I’m also probably applying Hopkins, Williams, Cornell, URochester, SUNY Geneseo, College of William and Mary, UVM, and UChicago.

Thank you! I promise I’ll chance you back if you want and I won’t be offended if you say something negative! I just want some kind of perspective!

Hey from Brown '15 :)

1) Your application is already probably strong enough for most of the colleges on your list.
2) Do retake your SAT2 in Math… it’s worth the little bit of your life.
3) You have a LOT more volunteer stuff than I did, I hope you have a real passion for community service, because that’s the kind of thing that really counts.
4) To be completely honest, your GPA could be higher… but it isn’t like you can change that (and please don’t ruin your senior year working yourself to death, that’s very much counterproductive).

I’d say your application is certainly competitive. The summer course there gives you a little extra push too. Bear in mind that any application comes down to a crapshoot beyond being competitive… depending on what admissions is looking for, you can be a virtuosso and not get admitted anyway.

So work hard (but not too hard), keep doing what you’re doing, and let admissions know that you like who you are, what you do, and you don’t plan on stopping any time soon. That’s all you can do.

I’ll keep an eye on this thread if you have any questions.

Good luck!

It looks like you’ve been taking hard classes and have pretty good scores. Honestly all I would tell you is consider retaking Math 2- and maybe try the ACT too. Strong ECs. Assuming your recs and essay are good, I would say you’re definitely competitive for Brown. Are you doing Biomed?
Also, could you chance me back on my thread?

I’m planning on actually doing a Chemistry concentration!
Does that at all help my chances???
