URM status as an African American is unquestionably significant. Once again, just saying, I know people without the URM Status and about your level of ECs with a much lower gpa who got into Cornell and Brown. Also, yes, there are plenty who apply and don’t get in, but the ones that get rejected do not have your gpa.

What ccjunior1 stated is in deed the fact. Asian Americans have to work extremely hard to get into any ivies! Unfair but nothing in this world is truly fair.

I really don’t know a lot but I think you have a good shot in UPenn! and I think that financial aid wouldn’t be a problem if you get in!!
Btw, does being asian but living in mexico like forever haha change my chances of getting into an ivy??
chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1506757-chances-wharton.html

I’m not sure if geography would help in an applying but itd make for a great essay!

Of course it can help if you’re located in an under-represented state or in a rural area, which is usually under-represented. If you’re competitive (and you are), an admissions office will try to hit as many checklist items as possible for its school statistics: URM, under-represented socioeconomic group (low income) and under-represented region. You should do very well.

I think you’ve got good stats and good hooks to help you out! You might even consider applying to a couple more competitive colleges to see how you pan out!

Chances:
Brown - high match
Columbia - low stretch
Boston U - match
UVA - match
Penn - low stretch (if you’re applying to Wharton then I’d say stretch)

Best of luck!

Chance me back? [Penn, Harvard, Chicago and more!](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1509778-chance-new-guy-penn-harvard-chicago-more-will-chance-back.html)

I think you’re guaranteed in at all of those schools except for UPenn, which would be high match, and Columbia and Brown, which would be a high match or a low reach. But you’ll definitely get in to most of those schools, and possibly all of them. Good luck! :)

Thanks so much for all of the help!
