You have a good chance at Brown, for Uchicago just make sure you sound interested in your essays, and they’ll either accept or waitlist you (but really you’ll get in if you appeal). I don’t know anything about NYU but I assume you’d definitely be in for that. Don’t know enough about Yale to comment.

I think you have great test scores and extracurriculars, and you have a decent chance of being accepted into Brown, Yale, and UChicago. NYU you’ll very likely get in.

Thanks for the feedback!

what gpa does “A+” translate to? Never heard of it

mcgraw17…
I’m not sure what you’re asking.
Does your school not do A- A A+? At my school, a grade of >96.5 is considered an A+. In terms of the weighted GPA, it counts just as normally as an A. All A’s are 4s for regular classes and 5s for honors/AP, as with any other letter. +s and -s don’t affect the point system (at my school)

ALL YES except yale is a tough one. Could you chance me on my thread? thanks

Awesome ECs. SAT is a little low but it’s ok you can send in the ACT score. Yale is tough but as for other schools, it is definitely a big YES. And yeah, write a stellar essay and you will get into UChicago.

I think you would certainly get into any of NYU’s schools. University of Chicago almost as selective as an ivy league school but i feel like you should get in. Brown and Yale are both Ivy League so it’ll be tough even though you have great stats. Your act is a 32 and i’ve heard that you need a 33+ but you have had to overcome economic adversity so i think they put that into consideration. Overall i think you have a great shot just make sure your essays kick butt so that you can feel confident.

Nyu- for sure

Chicago- most Likely

Brown and Yale- great shot

for me its A- = 3.7, A=4.0.

anyway, I can see you getting into nyu and chicago no problem. As for the ivys, with unique essays you have a good shot.

NYU: yes for sure
Brown, Chicago: mid reach
Yale: high reach (but attainable)

Remember Brown and Chicago have 9% accept rates, and Yale’s is ~6%, so no guarantees buddy.

Low income single parent might help you.

NYU: Great chances
Chicago: Reach
Yale: Reach

Good luck!
