Chance Me @ Brown

Your chances look pretty high; work on that ACT score, though (I have the same, but for Brown, I’m sure it’s best to get it as high as possible)! Other than that, you’re in good shape and I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re accepted.

Chance me!

Forget what everyone is saying about your ACT. It’s in Brown range. For the rest it’s obvious you’re a dedicated musician, and that’s a plus. Colleges prefer depth. I think you have a pretty decent chance of getting in.

I think you’ve got a good reach.
Try to get a 2200+ SAT!

Me?

Your objective stats seem on par with a Brown student, and your EC’s could definitely push you more toward acceptance. And if you really emphasize the dedication to music in your personal statement you could definitely have the “wow-factor” that they’re looking for. I think you definitely have a great chance–just continue to do this well throughout senior year! Good luck!

Thanks everyone!

looking pretty good, i am from up north, so maybe this is regional, but do people not take the SATS at your highschool?

i would say you definitely have a good chance of getting in. you have good GPA and test scores, and your proficiency playing the violin is very unique and should be appealing to the admissions people. i say you’re in, but you really never know with the Ivies

After reviewing Brown, I will say you have a great chance. Great Job on your academics and other prospects. Remember, Brown is an Ivy, so they can sometimes be unpredictable. Good luck!

I think that your chances, especially for a more liberal-artsy school like Brown, are pretty good. Your GPA is probably in the mid-range for Brown, and your music and art EC’s are great. However, I think that they would definitely want to see community service, or alternatively work experience (or both!) In that respect, I agree completely with lookingforward: having some voluntary public service would provide another dimension to your application beyond the humanities.
Finally, while I agree with CollegeGuy2015 that a 32 is enough to get in, getting a 34 or higher and being vaulted into that top 75% wouldn’t hurt :)

Thanks everyone!
@andrewjackson - no a lot of people have take the SATs… I haven’t decided if i am going to take them or not.

and to everyone else - Thanks so much for the feedback. @panthertrax - I am working on several community service projects now, hoping to improve in that area

Also I took the ACT again on February 12th… I thought it was oddly difficult (For the ACT) but am curious to see what I got. I would really like to get 33 or better, but only time will tell and I may have to take the test a third time to receive that score haha.

Thanks again!
