sorry but what does BSIB mean?

Is it the international business?

well i would say you are definitely in.

I was accepted EA yesterday to the CBA for marketing with only 3.46 W,
R 640 M 700 W 790
2130/2400
not nearly as many EC’s as you have, although my essay was really really good.

I also got a 40k scholarship

BSIB = Bachelor of Science in International Business

BSBA = Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (what the normal CBA people get)

Ooo yaayy! That makes me feel better—to be honest, I know this is a great school, but as far as how competitive it is, I wasn’t really sure, esp. for international business.

Thanks guys!

Does anyone know the actual acceptance rate for the business school/international business programs? I tried googling, but it’s only giving me combined acceptance rates for all undergraduates in all programs.

Oh and also, congratulations to mrfish! 40k sounds amaazzzinnnggg. According to all the financial aid calculators that I’ve used though, it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting any need-based aid… my family appears to have a high income, but the truth is, we’re supporting a lot of family members and there are other… unfortunate circumstances… ugghhh.

thanks!
yea i was really surprised to receive any merit based aid, and probably won’t be able to get any need-based either, even though next year my two sisters and I will all be in college, and some other issues as well…

Yeahhh… I’m an only child haha. Gooooood times.

Well… I guess we’ll have to see–fingers crossed.

I think you are in.

You’re definitely in. As a student in the program, I’d recommend it, as the College of Business Administration is constantly trying to improve the BSIB program. It’s become fairly selective but I had a 3.27 GPA and very similar SAT scores. I also didn’t take any SAT IIs and my only real extracurricular activity was working in an office.

Although some of the kids I wonder how they got in.

Hey, adamerco, I’m trying to transfer into BSIB into the english track. I am a freshman, and I’m currently a chem major. I talked to an advisor or something for BSIB, and we worked it out that I would be able to fit all the classes in. She advised that I take a bunch of classes for the international affairs minor and language stuff next semester. I’ve had 6 years of french, but I didn’t take AP french so I don’t actually have credit for it. I’m taking advanced french next semester. I got a 3.833 this semester, and I’ve spent all semester (and will next semester too) volunteering as a tutor at a teen center in Dorchester. I don’t really have a club yet… but I’m working on it.

I know it is really hard to get into BSIB as a transfer, since there are so few people picked. About 1/3 of the people trying to transfer into BSBA get in, and the advisor said even less are let into BSIB. What do you think my chances are of getting into the program if I apply for april? I don’t actually know anyone in BSIB, else I’d ask them. Thanks for your help.
