I am wondering what my chances are for:
- Cal Poly SLO (early decision)
- SDSU
- UC Irvine
- UC Santa Barbara
- UC Santa Cruz

Gender: Female
Location: SF Bay Area
HS: Private School College Prep

UC GPA: 3.2

SAT: 1820 (590 M - 570 CR - W)
SAT II Biology (E): 610
SAT II Literature: 590

ACT: 26

Yearbook Editor-In-Chief

300+ hrs of community service

I currently teach kindergarten religion classes on Saturday

I have worked for a daycare camp during the summer for that past 2 years

20+ hrs of work per week

JV Softball Frosh/Soph year

Hmm I've been considering Cal Poly too. But I have to admit your test scores are very low for the college. Study up and retake your SAT and/or ACT. If you are seriously looking into journalism I would also retake the SAT II Lit test.

Your EC's are solid for SLO. Applying ED would help greatly. I'm going to say it's a big reach. Cal Poly is ranked 5th on the US's top ational university list. Be sure to emphasize your talents when doing your app. Without changing anything academically, you will be a shaky candidate. As stated, retaking the tests as well as doing ED would help ALOT. I know it's alot.

I recommend:
- 4 years of math (including calculus)
- 1 year of physics
- 1 year of chemistry
- 4 years of English
- 1 year of U.S. history or government

Wow I know several guys who were accpeted last year and they all had 2300 SAT scores and 4.0 GPA. Maybe this is because they were applying to the school's competetive Engineering program?
