Chance me- can I get in from TX?

<p>Asian Male in TX: 1st-8th grade at Yale compus CT; moved to TX since 9th grade.
Date of Expected Graduation: 05.2010
1. Very competitive senior high school (Top 100 USNEWS), GPA is 4.5 (out of 5.0), top 11% out of 700 students- upward trend GPA since 11th grade.</p>

<li><p>Had taken 7 APs (all 4s) by the end of junior year (got AP Scholar with Distinction) and take 6 APs senior year (for sure to get National AP Scholar after senior year).</p></li>
<li><p>SAT score 2130; SATII: Biology 720, U.S History 730.
Will retake SAT and SATII in November and December to get better score.</p></li>
<li><p>200+ community service hours- library and hospital.</p></li>
<li><p>Got research internship (paid) and published first author review with PI.</p></li>
<li><p>Qualifier for regional level science fair- 1st place for west regional and took part in Siemens Competition in October 2009, will get result on October 23rd.</p></li>

<li><p>I can get very strong recommendation from my research PI.</p></li>
<li><p>I can write very good essay (my writing score is 11 out out of 12)</p></li>
<li><p>In all state band-(CT), top 10 chairs for flute, the band had our own CD(8th grade).</p></li>

<p>I think it’s pretty much a lock with the SAT and your GPA with that much course rigor.</p>

<p>I’d say you’re in because I’m certainly not going to debate that with you.</p>

<p>You don’t need to retake the SAT II subject tests. Only reason to maybe re-take the SAT is for possible edge for USC top scholarship (depending upon what the next score is).</p>

<p>You don’t mention your intended major. With admissions into CLAS your stats look very solid, but some extremely selective colleges at USC have their own criteria and the talent-based majors may more heavily weigh auditions, portfolios, special supplements and/or extra essays and letters of rec. For those, we can’t ever give a reliable “chance”.</p>
