Chance Me! Can I make it to ivy league?

Hey! 97 gpa unweighted. Sat 2240.On reading I got 740, math 760, writing 760. I want to go to Columbia. What are my chances?

Your scores and GPA won’t keep you out, but they don’t get you in either.

What extracurricular activities have you done? What do you usually spend your summers doing? What makes you… YOU? :)

I bike for charity but don’t really have time to do so much ECs. I’m only a junior so maybe you can suggest awesome activities to do the rest of the year to get me in

Well, what are you interested in? Science? Humanities?

I want to go into finance or business. I like science a lot though

Suggestions:

Start your own business?
Take AMC/USAMO/IMO?

i dont see you getting in based on just those scores

your sat scores add up to 2260…

you have a 97 unweighted GPA? Am i missing something or is that abnormally big?

^Some schools’ GPAs are on an 100 point scale.

Your EC’s are subpar, your SAT average and your GPA good (I assume 97 is an A or A+ GPA, so a 4.0 UW)? How many AP’s have you taken (and how many does your school offer)? Are you a URM?
Based on just those statistics, I don’t see you getting in unless you write really, really amazing essays. From what I understand, you’re somewhat underqualified, but you do still have a (very) small chance.

Also, the SAT scores you posted do indeed add up to 2260

Your lack of ECs make you slightly less competitive than the average folk. However, don’t sweat it. You’re better off writing a stellar essay about the time you’ve dedicated to charity rather than pile on a huge load of activities that will make you sink and feel swamped and unhappy. On the other hand, if you have some spare time, I recommend you go check out whatever piques your interest. Keep your horizons open! You never know what you might find.
