Chance Me -Canadian

I've read everyone else's chance me, but I figure the only way to really measure up is get someone else to review my sats.

SAT: 2300 - CR: 750 M: 750 W: 800

I'm applying as a transfer student so:

University:

I am in my first year at the University of Alberta. A top 5 university in Canada, and a top 100 globally.

GPA: 3.8

EC's:
Member of debate club
Member of Improv Club
Member of Chess Club
Staff Writer for School Newspaper

Two good letters of recommendation

High School:

GPA: My average is 88%. I don't know how that converts but I would suspect 3.7-3.8 GPA (unweighted)

AP: National Canadian AP Scholar: 5's Math, Physics, 4's English, Social, Chem, Bio

Assistant Captain of High School Basketball
Captain of Wrestling Team, Also a gold medal city championship
Two years of volleyball
Also won an Athlete of the week (school has 1,500)

Was creator and president of Philosophy Club (Up to 6 members at one point)

Was in a One-Act play, won "Best Break-out Actor"

Other EC's:

I did inner city volunteering in New Zealand, and Australia for 6 months.

I have hundreds of hours of volunteer work for my church (being that my dad is a pastor and makes me set up and take down our church in the gym for years)

Also, I have lived in Canada my whole life, but I was born in America. I don't know if that will help at all.

An 88 UW is actually around a 3.3.

It’s different in Canada actually. A’s are 80-100.

Not true at all, Gritter. An “A” is Canada must be 86% or above.

Rejection, to be frank. Your accomplishments are all over the place. Transfer students are expected to have a firm reason for wanting to tranfer. Universities like Columbia already have enough of you around.

Of course, I can always be wrong. Best of luck with notification!
