I'm dying to go to the University of Texas. The problem is, top ten percent is a HUUUUGE deal with them and 1) my school doesnt rank, 2) there's only 75 students in my class, and 3) I wouldn't be in it even if we did rank.

Here's the rest of my stats:

GPA: 91
SAT: CR- 650 ; Math- 520 (eesh) ; Writing- 590 ; Overall- 1760
ACT: 27

Would some amazing recommendation letters, kick ass essays, a resume of all of my accomplishments, combined with the fact that I have taken two ap classes since sophomore years suffice for me not being in the top ten?

THANK YOU

pretty please? : (

not being top ten percent will hurt you, but if you go to the site for uta, you'll see that not everyone is top ten percent. so it will depend on what kind of grades you got that resulted in the rank. were you all honors? were you a leader in the school or the community? why did you only take 2 ap classes in your entire high school career??????
you could get in, but you didn't give me enough stuff to know for sure. my advice- keep your options open if you can.

I go to a good public school in Illinois and people outside of the top 25% got into Texas, so I think you have a decent chance.

best actress at uil? that's so good.
now you've got capitalize capitalize CAPITALIZE on the acting. take lessons downtown, volunteer at a theatre. try your hand at scriptwriting and then see if you can get some people to perform it at your school(huge plus points.)
get as involved as you can. cultivate a strong realationship with whoever heads your school's theatre program.
if you live aroung houston, try out for TUTS or any other big deal theatre in your area.
work tech once or twice to prove you are interested in knowing theatre from all angles.

get those senior year grades up. i know theatre is really demanding... practice everyday after school for hours... but that won't cut it. set a goal for at least 3 or 4 a's this year. the rest have to be b's.

keep doing the vegetarian thing. that would be cool to put in your essay.

thanks :) any other suggestions anyone?
