I’m gonna keep this short unlike my previous thread. I’m a junior at a private school in NC. I’m a male asian. Please chance me on the following colleges: UNC Chapel Hill (#1 choice), NC State, Wake Forest, Davidson, Appalachian, UNC Charlotte, Santa Clara, Vassar, Villanova, Notre Dame

Stats:

Weighted GPA: 4.32
Unweighted GPA: 3.92
Top 10% of class (4.28 to 4.57) (School does decile ranking by GPA)
SAT Score Overall: 1880 (Reading: 580) (Math: 640) (Writing: 660/Essay: 10)

  • This was my first time taking the SAT (last month) and I didn’t study for it. I plan on taking it 1 or 2 more times and I plan on getting at least 2000.

Freshman Year Classes: Religion (requirement for my high school), Advance English (highest course offered for freshmen), Chorus, Beginning Drama, Advance Spanish 1 (highest course offered for freshmen), Health, PE, Honors Geometry, Advance Biology (highest course offered for freshmen)

  • I had all A’s except for Honors Geometry (B both semesters)

Sophomore Year Classes: Religion, Honors English 10, Choral Ensemble, Advance Spanish 2 (highest course offered for sophomore), Honors Algebra 2, Honors Chemistry, Advance World History

  • I had all A’s both semesters

Junior Year Classes: Honors Physics, AP English, Honors Choir, AP US History, Religion, Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors Spanish III

  • I had all A’s for the first semester except for AP English (B+)

Projected Senior Year Classes: Religion, AP English, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, Honors Choir, AP Microeconomics, AP US Government, AP Chemistry

ECs: Godspell (freshman year), Diversity Club (Main committee and Secretary. hopefully President next year), Songwriting Club (President), Honors Choir (one of my classes), Lifestyle Club, Investment Club, HOSA, Missions Abroad (Missionaries of the Poor), Filming (I help my dad film weddings on Saturdays a lot), Volunteering at my church every Sunday

  • I will be in National Honor Society in the spring. I will be volunteering at the hospital soon (awaiting response from hospital) and I have acquired a summer internship at a doctor’s office during the summer.

Extra Info: I have been selected by my counselors for Chapel Hill’s Project Uplift. And each year from my school, about 80 students apply to Chapel Hill, but only half get admitted.

Is your weighted GPA scale out of 6 or 5? Either way, you’re looking like a good candidate for these schools. We have the same SAT scores and Chapel Hill is also my top choice. Your GPA is good but both of us need to work on our SAT scores for schools like Chapel Hill and Wake.

UNC- High match atm (get your SAT scores up)
NC State- you’re in
Wake- get that SAT up
Davidson- high match
App- you’re in (apply to the honors college)
UNCC- definitely in (try honors college if they have one)
Santa Clara- no idea lol I don’t know anything about that school
Vassar- no idea
Nova- match
ND- low reach

raise the SAT score to around a 2050-2100 and i think ur fine for UNC, but for ND try to go for 2150+

ND would be a very high reach because your SAT is lower than their bottom 25% scores. UNC is a low reach (SAT) but you can probably still get in, and as far as NC State you should have no problem getting in.
