I also interned at Proton Electro Motors in Aurangabad, India last summer. Proton is a midsized engineering firm.

I have also been selected this summer to attend Boys State (American Legion) and the Economics for Leaders Program at Cornell University.

Thank you so much for you time, I really do appreciate it.

Your ECs are great and coupled with your class rank and GPA, you have a great chance.

You have a good shot, but let me assure you no one cares about you being the youngest person to take a class -__-

Oh ok, I see, is there anyway I can boost my chances for admissions?

Instead of putting “Indian American” as your race, put “Native American” and you’ll get in everywhere. lol.

But seriously, your SAT scores are a little low at 2240. If you think you could score above 2300, I would take them again.

Haha, that’s true…although I’m Indian American as from India…I don’t know about the SAT’s. With AP’s in May, and the Subject Tests in June, if I took the SAT it would be next year. Do they really matter? I heard that once you reach a baseline, say hypothetically 2100, schools don’t really care. They want that “Wow” factor or saying something that differentiates you. What do you think?

I think that your 2240 is fine. I was just trying to find something that you could do better. Just make sure to study for SAT IIs and get at least 750s.

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely try to take them again if possible, any specific SAT II’s you’d recommend? I was thinking Math II, Bio, and Spanish. Then maybe US and Chem early next year?

I took Math II and chem and scored 800 and 780 respectively. And I am gonna take US History and Bio just because I am taking APUSH and AP Bio. Since you are taking AP Bio, APUSH, and precalc, I would take the Bio, US History, and Math 2 tests. You can also take spanish if you want. There is really no reason to take more than 3. I am taking 4 but just because i’m a loser and have nothing better to do :)

Are there particular SAT II’s they prefer?

I don’t think so. But I think it’s a good idea to take 2 in the subject you are interested and 1 in another subject to show that you are well rounded. For example, I am interested in Science/Math, so I took Math II, Chem, and Bio, and I am taking US History to show that I am also adept in the humanities.

Your low SAT score but high class rank, and your A in AP Chem but a 3 on the exam shows significant grade inflation; however, your current 2240, plus your ECs, should give you a pretty decent chance at all those schools

@bobtheboy, at our school, we don’t really have AP. We have something called ACE which is offered through a local Community College. The course itself does not prepare you to take the AP exam, it just offers the basics from which you study to take the test. Should I emphasize that when writing my application?
