Hello! Although I know they don’t look at legacy status anymore, I’m a multi-generation legacy and a descendant of John Milledge, so I’ve been wanting to go to UGA since I was tiny. Unfortunately, I’m now an OOS student as my parents moved to the northeast when I was young. Here are my stats!

Congratulations on your achievements! I have good news for you: UGA does not take residency into consideration like most state schools (GATech does).

Legacy does not have an impact on an admission decision, and neither does your gender, ethnicity, high school/county, state, or eye color. There are always a number of rumors that are associated with college admissions, most of which are false, so I suggest you ask on the blog if you hear about a rumor.
You’re welcome. I actually remembered something from last year about state of residency coming into account for a small number of applicants so I went to the blog to try to find that and found the following in the comments on this page.
In the past, UGA has looked at in-state and out-of-state students the same, with only last year that we had a limited difference in our review to favor in-state students. I cannot guess about the situation right now for Fall 2022, as we are only at the start of the decision process.
My daughter’s #s were similar - lower GPA, higher ACT equivalent…she got in with 1/2 OOS waiver and got into the Honors College which is very hard. She got into Honors not at admission, but a later try.
