Chance Me/College Suggestions

Hi all!

I’m a rising senior and I’m fairly certain I finalized my college list, but I’m starting to wonder which of these I have a genuine chance of getting into, and whether I should add/reconsider some target schools.

Basic Info:
White female
Attending competitive public high school in NYS

GPA: 96.13 UW 98.13 W

SAT: Composite: 1480
Reading: 740
Math: 740
I’ve only taken it once so far but I’m taking it again this month and possibly once more before applications are due, and have not, as well as do not plan to take the ACT.

Rank: 31 out of 570

APs:
Sophomore year: World History-5
Junior year: English Language-5, US History-5
All the rest of my classes Freshman through Junior year were honors, as that was the highest class load offered.

Senior Year Courseload: AP Chemistry, AP Literature, AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, AP Macroeconomics, AP European History, and the highest level of French offered by my school

ECs/activities:
Freelance photographer and reporter for local newspaper-4 years
Varsity ski team-3 years
Vice President of school Democratic club-2 years
Member of National Honor Society and French Honor Society
Founder and president of school environmental club-2 years
Member of gender equality club-4 years
And some other miscellaneous volunteer work/activities as well as major family responsibilities.

My current list is:
Barnard
Middlebury
University of Vermont
Fordham
Williams
Boston University
Hunter
SUNY Binghamton
American
Northeastern
Vassar
Colby
Colgate
University of Pennsylvania
Mount Holyoke
Smith

I’m honestly having a ton of trouble with choosing schools that are appropriate for my stats/ECs, and I have very little grasp on what most of the schools that I’m considering look for, so thanks to anyone for helping!

One daughter with stats that were marginally lower got into BU, Northeastern, and UVM. She got a presidential scholarship from UVM but no aid at all from BU and Northeastern. You might want to run the NPC to see if it shows the same thing (the UVM NPC did correctly predict the presidential scholarship).

If you are from NY state I would expect that SUNY Binghampton is probably a safety, but we did not consider it (we are not from NY) and therefore I am not completely sure.

To me this looks like a long but otherwise very good list provided you either are fine with being full pay, or have run the NPC on each school and are okay with the results.

ED and you have a good shot at Northeastern and Boston U. Dont know enough about others.

Penn I would scrap completely.

I strongly recommend visiting the schools you feel are fit, and narrow from there.

Good luck.

Tentative academic interests?

I want to major in either history, political science, or both for a pre-law track.

Somehow I’d missed your response way back when you posted this, @applebh. It’s interesting to see now where you’ve reached based on your other thread.
