Essays:
-Common App: 10/10 I think, everyone who read it liked it, it really described my personality and connected with my intended major, ChemE
-Why Columbia: 8/10, not outstanding but made my point
-Why this major: 9/10, connected my ECs of volunteering to Chemical Engineering
Recs:
1 - pretty good, very short but glowing
2- didn’t read but he loved me and I got 100 in his class

Oh and a 3 on AP Physics 1 - also self-studied.

Subject tests are relatively low for engineering

that and some more engineering related EC would be nice. other than that, solid chances

I think you have a decent chance, but the lack of engineering ECs is somewhat of a confusing mark on your application to me.

I was worried about that too. My why engineering major did connect all my ECs to engineering and showed why they made me want to do ChemE. Do you think that’ll help?

Possibly, but you’re also competing with other students who want to major in ChemE who DO have those engineering ECs, so it might be an uphill battle.

True. Here’s hoping being a woman in engineering and my essays pull me through!

I think the woman in engineering part will help a little, but the essays are ultimately what can get you in at this point. Good luck!

Woman in engineering and great stats and list of extracurriculars. Not trying to boost your confidence or anything, but seriously. A-m-a-z-i-n-g. I think you have a good chance.

Thank u @Yayeducationlol that makes me feel better. I keep waking up in middle of the night thinking of things I should have written on my application instead
