CHANCE ME (Computer Science/Computer Engineering) University of Wisconsin - Madison

I'm going to apply to UW Madison and I really want to know my chances at getting in. I already got straight out rejected by University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Computer Science), but I don't know think they saw my new ACT score(used to be a 29) from October since I applied there early.

Ethnicity: Asian
School does not show class rank.
Pretty good recommendation from tennis coach.
Decent essay.
My cousin lives in Wisconsin and also attends the school if that affects anything.

UNWEIGHTED GPA: 3.46/4
WEIGHTED GPA: 4.08/5.3
ACT: 32 (33 English, 31 Math, 31, Reading, 32 Science)

EC:
played competitive tennis since age of 7
played varsity tennis 4 years (many awards and some recognition in the state)
volunteered to teach tennis at local Chinese school
American Cancer Society Relay for Life for 1 year

HONORS/AP CLASSES:
Chinese, Pre-Calc, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Environmental Science, AP Computer Science, AP US History, AP Statistics

University of Wisconsin: High match/low reach

Your ACT score is fine, but you do have somewhat of a lack of ECs and a lower GPA than they usually get.

thanks for your input! anyone else??

Do you have anymore ECs that you do? Be sure to list as many ECs as you can.

Where is you home state? Too bad that you did not even get deferral from UIUC. For UW-M, it should be a high match mainly due to your GPA. Your ACT is fine. Unlike UIUC, you are applying to UW with interest in Engineering, so you are competing with all other UW applicants. For UIUC, you are applying to specific program (or engineering school) that makes it very competitive.

I know my ECs are bad :(. I live in New Jersey.

Also what specifically does high match mean? Does it mean I have a good chance?

bump. would it be any benefit to apply to the computer science in CALS instead of Computer engineering in the engineering school
