Chance me: Computer Science transfer to UC Riverside

I’m a current CC student, looking to transfer to UCR as a computer science major.

GPA: 3.1-3.2
TAG: yes
Prereq’s: yes
IGETC: yes

Ideally, after this semester, my major prep should be high enough to qualify for TAG. However, there is a small chance that it may drop below the threshold very slightly, and my overall gpa will be around 3.1. Would I still be considered a competitive applicant, and what are my chances? Thanks

  1. Make sure you actually have the amount of units NEEDED for transfer. UCR requires 90 Quarter units to transfer which is 60 Semester (Junior Standing). If you don't have those units done then you are SOL either way.
  2. You're GPA is a little dangerous. I can't say for sure but the transfer might be a reach. Good luck.

@SvFalcons74 I have more than 60 semester units so I’m fine in that area. The TAG gpa for UCR is only 3.1, so I feel as though I SHOULD have a good chance if my major gpa is JUST under that, while my overall gpa will be at or over 3.1
