Chance me? Confused.

Hey guys!

I've fell in love with Holy Cross' campus and their approach in education. I've visited them twice and planning on doing an interview. I am still confused on if I have even a chance of acceptance to Holy Cross. If not, any recommendations would greatly help!

Here are some info about my workload:

SATs: 1800> they were so low, not planning on submitting them. I have been prepping everyday, hopefully they will go up by October

-NHS Tutoring Director
-2 internships at a hospital
-volunteer at local animal shelter, local supply organization, and hospital (over 100+ hours)
-captain of a computer science program

I don't know if this will help with the decision process:
-low income, single mom household, first generation, and English wasn't my first language (I'm Asian)

My coursework does show that I've been challenging myself (taking academic risks). I will be taking calculus II senior year which only consists of 8 people.

Thank you in an advance! :)

Do you have a GPA?

Yeah, my GPA is 3.9 unweighted.

bump

I forgot to add:

My school is really small and there are no clubs and not many sports to sign up for. I wasn’t interested in the sports my school has to offer so I signed up for swimming at my local YMCA and self taught myself how to play the piano. I also attended a hackathon, built a 3D printer and won runner’s up. I hope these ECs help boost my chances.

If you study and get your SAT above 1950, I’m sure that Holy Cross will be a match. You have a lot of hooks - first generation, low income (less so), and you do go to a small school without many options. The ECs that you just added DEFINITELY help your application. Right now I’d say you’re a high match, with an improved SAT and solid essays I’d say match or even low match. Good luck!

Chance me back? :)
