My Freshmen year was pretty horrible! However, I know some colleges like to see an upward trend and my junior year has been beyond perfect. Any replies would be much appreciated!

Are those UW or W stats? You’re right about freshman year - it’s really going to be a bump along the road. I think if you maintain high grades and rigorous coursework during your senior year some schools might overlook freshman year, but I’m not so sure about top ones. Perhaps if you had a solid reason for those bad grades, such as personal or family issues, be sure to include that in one of your essays.

Do you have any leadership positions in your EC clubs? That’s a key point.

My guess is that UCLA would be within your reach, but I’m not so sure about Cornell and Duke.
