I would say you have roughly a 50-60% chance. Your grades are INSANE better than mine for sure, very impressive. Although you are lacking in your extracurricular you seem like a square in that area. But you definitely stand a good chance nonetheless, due to what it seems like your strong personality and good essay topic. BTW check out my chance me post (I’m also applying to Cornell) http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/2024642-cornell-early-decision-chances.html#latest

amazing grades, but your sat ii’s and ec’s are a bit lacking if you plan to be a biology major

good luck on the retake. Id say low reach

@MaizeScream do me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/2024642-cornell-early-decision-chances.html#latest

@MaizeScream i think your comment about “ECs a bit lacking” is NOT the case at all. The OP seems to do alot, it will just be how she puts that all together in her essays, etc. She has leadership and also has shown commitment by playing all 3 sports for 3 years. I do think the SAT subject tests are low - not competiive at that level. The ACT is probably on the lower end of Cornell’s scale. Did OP take any AP exams @lrandolph ? Any what were your scores.

APUSH, AP Lang, and Ap Gov are all 4s. Yes, in my essays about my fear of failure I tied sports in with academics. I think for the ECs I got it covered plus I expanded on them well in the activities portion of the common app.

@LvMyKids2 ^^^

do you have to send the subject test scores? I forget if they are required?

@LvMyKids2 yeah! However, at my visit to Cornell they put out there they don’t even focus all that much on the scores. If you did good props to you and it’ll boost you, but if you did bad or average it wouldn’t hurt you as much. With that being said though, I hope to do just a little better at least on the scores coming in two days:)
