Re: good
Essay: so so,could be good

my top choice
Cornell ED , Upenn ED , USC ED(all 3 look for full financial aid), i know it is very tough

High reach ones?(they are need-based)
HPY
MIT

Thanks for advice!!!

if you think i am reach or high reach at all of them
could you give me some other chances, my parents are low income.

Sorry, but since you’re an international student and an asian male, you’re in an extremely large, competitive applicant pool and you just don’t seem to really have any thing that differentiates you from this crowd. You should definitely still apply to HYPM if that’s where you want to go, but I’d say you’re chances are pretty slim. =/

wow 2400 on the fourth time Isuppose? or is this a super score

reply to Djokovic
it’s not a superscore
first time 1960
second time 2310
third time2310
fourth time 2400

I think you’ll be golden for USC.

I really don’t understand why zriley0931 considered your chances to be “slim” for Cornell. To be honest, you have very very good chance of getting in based upon what I’ve seen. 2400s and 3200s just don’t float around and having them is a BIG plus. I’ve seen tons of applicants with semi-decent SAT scores and fairly decent ECs get accepted. Though your ECs are a bit lop-sided. All in all, I think you should aim at HYPSM, because you are very qualified for Cornell. By the way, I’m also applying to Cornell ED, and after reading what zriley0931 said I was kinda baffled because my scores are no where near yours.

wow, aimingfor2300 gives me hope when i hit the bottom…
probably you will be my competitor…

Scores are not everything. How many times has Harvard or Princeton bragged about denying applicants with perfect SATs? His GPA is on the low end of the spectrum for Ivies and his ECs are not amazing. The main factor working against him is his status as an international student. You should also know that Cornell is not needs blind for internationals.

I hope you don’t feel that I’m trying to put you down, I’m just providing my opinion on your chances. Don’t let my posts or anyone else’s on this site deter you from applying to where ever you want to go. Best of luck! =D

Hold on a second, am I underestimating Cornell and overestimating your application?

Sure you’re Asian (and so am I), but I’ve seen several applicants from my school (which is public and located in Canada) get accepted with low to mid 2200s and just decent ECs and Academic coursework. And for Cornell, AOs really don’t scrutinize ECs that much since test scores and GPAs really provide them with enough information to make a decision. If no one else in your school has a dazzling application, then really, you have a excellent chance in getting accepted. Good luck!

Full aid + international Asian student… it will be tough

Your 2400 and 3200 are amazing, (BTW why aren’t you sending in your 800 in math1?) they help a lot.

Hard to say. Good luck. I think you will get into cornell. Not sure about UPenn or HYP.

thanks to everyone
i have a story about my GPA, cause i moved to the US in sophomore(2nd semester),and i am
the only Asian in my school(1500 students), a bit of discrimination happened on me…
It’s a Hispanic and black school, moreover, English problem.

oops, did i mention that i am a Chinese?
i have changed 2 schools in us

Cornell is definitely one of the easier Ivies to get into, and with your test scores you really stand out. the GPA is a bit low…and your ECs don’t seem that great… but I think that if you write good essays you have a very good shot.

hallow wow

can you explain to me how you went from 1900’s on the SAT to a 2400??
I must know my SAT’s this saturday D:

how’d you deal with the CR seciton specifically???

and i think you have a decent shot ED

their acceptance rate is near 40%

USC does not have ED.

I smell a ■■■■■.

@schrizto- oh wow you’re right…didn’t even realize that. maybe the OP made a mistake? ^^
