Your chances as legacy are indeed good! I also entered the Economics program, four years ago however, and was captain of my varsity tennis team (undefeated in doubles!!). Your scores are in fact strikingly similar to mine. But, to increase your chances you need a personal connect in admissions. Get this! Message me if you have questions.

I in fact do have an inside connection (Johnson School of Business President) but I don’t know if that really helps or not. My college guidance counselor has also helped me meet the LA area admissions officer for about an hour.

i thought cornell literally almost never uses the waitlist? doesn’t seem very comforting to me. and as for the GT, i suppose it’s nice if you hate your current college, but what if you like it? that’d be a heartbreaker.

I think you might be overestimating the effect of legacy. It’s not a miracle worker that is going to get you into college if you don’t deserve to be there. Obviously, I am not a Cornell admissions officer, which means I can only ascertain how much I THINK legacy is worth. Write good essays and get good recs and you have as good a shot as anyone else in the pool.
