I’d say your chances are fairly good. Your scores and GPA for the most part are good, Chem is a bit low. Your class rigor is pretty high as well. Honestly the only thing going against you, and I hate being stereotypical about this, is that you are an Asian male applying to the engineering school. That’s just a competitive demographic. But outside of that your chances are good, I’d say overall around a 50-50.

yea i had a gap year between taking AP chem and the Chem SATs… will that drag me down significantly?

NO, you can take Ap Chem 9th grade and take the SATII 3 years later and it still will not affect you at all. If anything happens, it would actually benefit you. It shows that you actually understand and remember the things you’ve learned in the past and that you didn’t forget them.

Many people applying to Engineering school have around the same stats as you with 2~3 SATIIs. You should take more SATIIs. Compared to all the good AP scores you have, I don’t see a reason why you wouldnt take more SAT IIs. Having 4 or more SATIIs will CLEARLY make a difference.

Actually I disagree with that. I mean engineering really cares about chemistry physics and math. Though it will LOOK nice seeing that you got an 800 on World history or whatever, it won’t play a huge role in admission. Honestly, you have a decent shot, I think it will be decided based upon how good your essays are.

thanks for the input… ill probably take the physics SAT IIs in the near future to overshadow my bad chem score if that is necessary
