Extracurriculars:

Piano is my biggest "thing". I know that yes, I'm Asian (and every Asian kid plays the piano well :P), and that probably won't help, but I've attended numerous festivals, institutes, and competitions, and I have fared pretty well on the national and international levels. I've won a few major competitions, lost a few. I will also be applying to a number of conservatories and music schools (Juilliard, Eastman, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody, Rice - Shepherd, Northwestern - Bienen, Cleveland Institute of Music, etc.) because this has been such a big aspect of my life, and I truly love it; definitely having issues convincing parents of letting me go music-only. I adore Boston and NYC (absolutely AMAZING teachers and musical opportunities all over) and the amazing symphonies in those two cities make them even more attractive ;P
Will be sending in an arts supplement for all non-conservatory schools, hope it might help a little bit?

Cello - I make it into All-State every year and I'm in the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the Emory Symphony Youth Orchestra (we will be playing for From The Top in about two months) - both are by audition. Piano's my first instrument though, but I'll probably include a cello recording and a resume on an arts supplement as well.

Policy Debate - I used to be pretty competitive on the national circuit back in freshman and sophomore years (best was getting second place at novice national championships), but I had to quit at the end of sophomore year; dropped it because it was cutting into music.
