Hi, I’m a senior who applied to UC Davis. I have a 4.14 UC GPA and a 1390 SAT. My ECs include volunteering at a daycare for two years and then being hired by the daycare my junior year. I also babysit and play ukulele. I’m worried because I applied for a major in biology and I think that may make it harder for me to get in because the biology major is so impacted. Also, I am a California resident. Chance me please?
The sciences are typically impacted, but if you are local, your chances may be stronger than other applicants.
The Ukulele is interesting. Did you highlight that in your essays?
Thank you for replying! Yes, I talked about ukulele for my essay about my “creative side”. In my other essays I talked about working at the daycare, volunteering as a mentor to two elementary school girls with special needs, and my interest in the medical field. I visited the campus last weekend and loved it!
