Chance me? Do I need to apply to safer safety?

GPA: 4.62 weighted, 4.25 UC GPA, 3.92 unweighted
SATs: superscore of 2260, single sitting 2190
Awards: NHS, AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Commendation, Honor Roll all 4 years, school specific "excellence" award
Extracurriculars: 3 years of track and field and cross country, 1 year Freshman orientation leader, 4 year Spanish club, 2 year Homecoming halftime show committee, 4 years Hope for Diabetes club (secretary), 3 years CSF (volunteering club)
(my extracurriculars are probably the weakest part)
My essays were okay, same for recommendations.

My schools:
UCLA
UC Berkeley
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Cal Poly SLO
USC
University of Washington
UT Austin

I kinda wanna apply to one or two more, but I'm not sure where. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Berkeley: Match
UCLA: Match
UCD: Low match
UCSD: Low match
UCSB: Low match
Cal Poly SLO: Low match
USC: Match
UWA: Safety (if you can pay full-freight)
UT-Austin: Low match

You will get into at least one…

Anyone have suggestions for another place to apply? Should I apply to a reach/crapshoot?

No you don’t need to apply to safer safety. Davis, SB, UT, and UWA you are a shoe-in.

Should I apply to another reach then? I kinda wanna have 10 schools haha… I’m not suer which other would be good though.

More chances would be great too!

Yes! Apply for a reach. It’s always worth the shot. I’d choose from one or two of Stanford, Rice, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, UVa (since it’s OOS is harder. It would still only be a match), UNC (<10% OOS. Still probably just a match for you), and a LAC like Pomona or Claremont McKenna.

Finish your current apps and then apply to a rolling school that will accept you quickly so that you can reduce the stress of waiting.

I’m thinking Arizona, Arizona St, Colorado, Oregon State, etc. Just get in somewhere. Many people have decisions already and are 100% sure that they are going to college in the fall.

Too many safeties.

lol from the looks of things, you should apply to more reaches dude. You can count yourself in for all the UC’s (except Cal and LA) and cal poly and USC. Don’t really know much about the other two on your list. Pick some reaches. My list is all reaches, and then I have like two safeties and two matches. I think that’s the way to go when you have GPA above a certain point and SAT above 2150. Too many safeties in my opinion

Btw, some top-tier schools also require SAT subjects (Columbia, Pomona, Princeton etc), so that might hinder you from applying to some. However, I still maintain that you should pick some reaches (ones that don’t require subject tests)

Thanks for the advice guys! Let’s see if I can somehow make a couple more apps happen… I’m not sure how I would get my teacher and counselor to resubmit their letters to those schools since we’re on break obviously. I also do have subject test scores, so that’s good!

Talk to them! They’ll do it if you ask properly. :)

Yeah I could always try to email but I’m just afraid they won’t respond. Maybe I’ll try after Christmas
