Chance me dudes, dudettes, and those who're inbetween

I'm an Asian girl (damn't) from the midwest

ACT: 32 (I took the test twice, and I'll have to send a 29 too because I didn't pay for the essay portion on the 32, f**k)

SAT II: Math IIC-760 Chemistry- 750 (and chinese)

Rank: Top 10% out of 200 people in my class. Extremely competitive school, either #1 or #2 in the state (of the public schools)

Recs:
Probably gonna be decent

Prospective Major:
Undecided

Colleges I'm looking at:
Ivies (NOT looking at HYP)
Top non ivies
Higher tier schools

My reach schools: UPenn, Duke, Stanford, MIT, Columbia (NY duh), Cornell
Some higher tier schools I'm interested in: Washington University in St. Louis, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins.

NOTE: I'm not sure if I should ED to WashU because I'm not that passionate about it, but getting into that school is my priority because my parents love it.

Feel free to suggest other additions/add comments

ahhhh, i see, a "ghetto" asian girl. how original

journalism stands out fine. otherwise you are rather unimpressive. so try to highlight your passion in reporting ghetto things

reject by stanford & mit (um, why mit??). accept at the rest GIVEN that you really do a great job with presenting your journalism stuff

Edit: oh wait, just saw that 10% rank. ouch. reject by lower ivies as well.

I don't know, MIT sounds cool
journalism is my only strong point, I suck at the rest
care to elaborate on "great job with presenting your journalism stuff?"

girl, don't be questionin' me

essay

Get that GPA calculated. Can you push your ACT higher?

ACT: I'm too lazy to take it again.
GPA: Can you calculate it for me, I got 1 B in ap chem for a semester, the rest are A's. I'm too lazy, and I'm not sure how to calculate my gpa.

ok I calculated my weighed/unweighted GPA

Weighted= 4.05/4.3
Unweighted= 4.0 (essentially)

Reject at all Ivies, Stanford, MIT.

In everywhere else.

bump--------

Northwestern is your best bet.

bump again

Bump------

Hey. Thanks for chancing me.

Um lets see

Ur ACT is pretty good, but it can't hurt if u can improve it. Also, ur SAT IIs are good but I think u should take atleast one more.

As far as ur GPA/class rank is concerned, they are mediocre in light of the schools you are going to apply to.

As a result, I think that it might be a reach/big reach for the top Ivies and maybe a reach for Columbia and Stanford.

But other than that, I think u should be in everywhere else.

P.S.: Do u honestly know if my nationality(Bangladesh) is a minority?

Definitely try Cornell and probably Penn... you'd have a real decent chance at the former!

Stanford is just as hard to get into as HYP lol..

wait...are your parents going to be the ones attending college or are you...go to the school you think is right for you

SPLINTER: I'm too lazy to take any more tests, I might take the government SAT II if I have any motivation left by the end of the summer...

Top 10% is the highest rank/percentage I can get from my school, it's about 20 people.

p.s. see your thread

MITDAD: Thanks for chancing me, hopefully I'll get lucky

LLPITCH: yeah, thus it's a double-reach for me.

GATOR: I know, but I can go to WashU for free because my parents work there, so that's really tempting, and it's close to home. I'm just not that passionate about the school, but I don't really want to risk not getting into WashU.

Since I have to send both of my ACT scores because I didn't take the essay part on the second one (1st time: 29 f**k and 2nd time: 32), how much will sending both scores affect my chances? (for example... if I'm up against someone else who sent only a 32)

bump--------

with your test scores and ec's nothing really stands out. if i were you, i would take the act again.
