Chance me Duke ED

Hi, I am a white female interested in computer science and business. I am wondering what my chances are at Duke for ED?

ACT: 33C (35 M,34 E, 34 S, 28 R), 34 superscore
GPA: 3.88UW/4.61W
Ranking: Top 10%
AP Test Scores: Micro(5) Macro(5) Comp Sci A(4) APUSH(5) AP Spanish Language and Culture(3) AP Calc BC(5).
Senior Year Schedule: Multivariable, ap stats, ap physics C, regular English, honors accounting

Extracurriculars(Vague to protect identity):
Outside of school I was involved in a teenage girls entrepreneurship club focused on social impact projects. At school, I am involved in Coding Club, Mathletes, Key Club, Deca, Lacrosse, Spanish Honors Society, Academic tutor for math and science, and a few others. I do not have any major positions, but have been involved in each of the clubs for at least 2 years.

Summer: I went to overnight camp for a few years, but also worked at a nearby concert venue. My last year of camp I was a co-captain for color wars. This summer I did a community service outreach trip to learn about and help tackle homelessness and poverty. The rest of the summer I worked at the concert venue again.

I know my reading ACT is significantly lower than the rest of my act and I was wondering if that could be a potential issue even though I am more interested in math and science fields? In addition, I have taken one of the most challenging schedules that is offered at my school. However, people rarely get into Duke. Please let me know what you think my chances are and what else I should do to help myself and prepare for the upcoming year. Thanks so much! Also I was wondering if the Duke interview is something I should definitely mark yes for on the application, even if I do not necessary want to do it?

Things to consider… for Duke if you don’t put down yes for the interview Duke will accept another letter of reccomendation if you have a good one. At least that was the case last year.

In terms of chances you have solid stats,ECs, etc. Dean Guttentag has been quoted as saying half the 37,000 applicants last year had the credentials to get accepted. A few years ago I read that Duke had 1,914 valedictorians apply of which they accepted 29%.

So you have the credentials to look just like the half that would be considered for addmission. You now have to find a way to stand out within that group. Good luck with your application.

One last suggestion read what some of the Robertson scholars are up to. These are the archetype of what Duke looks for. They stand out!
