I'm applying to Duke (Pratt) RD and am a female interested in mechanical engineering (would this give me a little bit of an advantage/would I be a competitive candidate at all?)

High Reach. GPA is average, SAT is low and Math II is low. Best of luck!

Duke would be a pretty big stretch. Your stats are not on the high end for Duke. Can’t hurt to apply as you never know if there is someother hook that might get you in, but make sure you apply to other schools as well. Good luck.

If it helps, a good friend of mine got accepted last year for biomedical engineering. She had a 2100 on her SAT (800 in Math), and a 4.0 GPA. She decided to go to MIT, though.

Oh, and she was an international.
