Chance me for:
Duke
Uchicago
Vanderbilt
Emory
UNC OOS
UVA OOS
Pepperdine
Auburn
WUSTL

please and thank youuu:D

You have very good chances at both of those. all the other colleges i don’t know enough about but my friend got into UVA last year with a 4.1 GPA and essentially no EC’s. He probably had some good SATS though
Chicago has a different SAT average score than what’s shown on collegeboard; it’s actually like 2200 but with all your EC’s and AP’s you should be fine. apply early decision to whichever one you’d like to go to the most

I got into pepperdine with an 1820 sat, 3.5 gpa and not really impressive extra curriculars besides sports. So you have an extremely good chance of getting in there. Sorry I dont really know about the others.

thanks guys
anyone else?

All of the schools on your list, except Auburn, are prob. reaches.

I kind of agree with Dblazer except for pepperdine. Some of them are low reaches or high matches and Duke and Chicago are serious reaches.

Are you from Alabama?

I’m not from Alabama; I’m from Texas (so I would have automatic admission to UT austin as a guaranteed safety)
thanks for the feedback you guys! is there anything I should work on specifically? I will retake SAT in October to raise math and reading scores

If you feel you are ok with going to UT if nothing else works out (better than any other state school of course!), there is no reason you can’t apply to the above list. However, I would avoid other state schools unless they promise instate at least as a scholarship. I think Auburn may do that.

Duke - high reach
Uchicago - reach
Vanderbilt - reach
Emory - low reach
UNC OOS - mid reach
UVA OOS - reach
Pepperdine - match
Auburn - safety? or low match
WUSTL - high reach

Your ECs are kind of weak and your SAT is a tiny bit low for some of those schools.

7 months later

Just wanted to point out to all those who are on CC, just because people say a school is a serious or high reach doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply. I ended up applying ED to Duke, and I got my acceptance letter last week  work hard, be passionate, and reap the rewards. don’t let anyone discourage you!

Congratulations !!! Thanks for that update. Did you happen to apply to UNC or was that going to be a RD deadline that you cancelled with your Duke acceptance? If so , were you accepted to UNC OOS and/or had you retaken the SAT? If so, did it show improvement? Just looking for more encouragement for the “chances” as the decision deadline approaches. Thanks!

Looks like Ruthie stopped posting after this last message in December. My guess is that she accepted Duke and had to withdraw everything else.
