Chance me EA for Tulane?

I did NOT fill out the optional "why do you want to go to Tulane" question; was this a mistake? That's what's really driving my anxiety- I feel I should've thrown something in.

*Asian Male from very competitive Massachusetts Public School

AP/Honor: AP US Government and Politics (12th), Honors World History (10th)

UW GPA: ~3.55
Weighted GPA: ~4.1/5.0

SAT Critical Reading: 670
SAT Math: 740
SAT Writing: 690
Total: 2100

SAT only taken once; no super score.

ECs:
*3 Years Varsity Wrestling; Voted Team Captain for Sr. Year; Most Improved Award; League All Star
*Worked for family company all four years; about 5 hours a week
*2 Years JV Baseball
*Intern for gubernatorial campaign, ~40 hours/week over summer
*Off-season wrestling club for 2 seasons per year, for 3 years at Boston University

Essay: Wrote about how I discovered the power of leadership in working to re-elect the governor, how he inspired the people he spoke to and gave them hope. I think it's solid and personal.

Recs: One from English teacher and one from History teacher; both should be comprehensive, and mostly positive.

-Honor Roll each year

I submitted my application a little less than a week ago, and I realize this is probably kind of annoying, but I am just getting anxious and would like to know how I stack up. When can I expect a decision?

Thanks a lot guys.

As mentioned before, at this point you cannot EXPECT a decision before Dec 15. You might very well get one a bit sooner, but there isn’t much time between now and then anyway. As far as the optional statement, I wouldn’t worry about it. I don’t think it is a trap to see who does it and who doesn’t. Naturally, anything that helps get across positive things about you helps, but you have plenty there. Your stats are solidly in the Tulane range. While nothing is guaranteed, you should relax. Your chances are excellent.

Thanks for the reassurance FC, I ask about the decision time only because my friend applied about 3 days before me and received his decision in a week.

You might too. Some luck involved, timing, etc. Just no guarantees, other than Dec 15.
