I think it looks good. But being OOS and from Ohio (joking), gets to be really tough for everyone. Seems like your doing all the correct things. Keep doing that. Don’t let up. When you get deferred (hope I am wrong), they will want to see your grades through mid year.

Lsa avg last year was 3.9 unweighted with 32-35 Act

While I think your uwGPA is a tad on the low side for admitted OOS students, the tour shows demonstrated interest, which is “considered,” and applying for CS thru LSA versus CoE is a smart move.

FWIW, looking thru the stats of last admissions cycle, I did find someone with a similar OOS stat profile of LSA/3.75/31 who was deferred, but then accepted in RD. It’s a sample of one, so please take it for what it is.

However, the stats of most of the students who post here on CC skew higher, but acceptances of uwGPA’s in the 3.70-3.79 range were largely in-state applicants here on CC.

Best of luck to you.

Don’t be discouraged if you get deferred. Michigan defers a lot of OOS applicants to RD round. And a lot later get accepted.

Thank you for this data, I will continue to hope I get accepted eventually!

This is absolutely correct. In total, UMich will receive about 65,000 apps and roughly 40,000 of them will be submitted EA. UMich will accept about half their class, or 7,500-8,000 apps, during EA. And what that means is that majority of those 32,000+ remaining EA apps are deferred to the RD round.

Having said all that, you never really know what the readers (and computer algorithms) are looking for in an application when crafting a class.

One last thing, if you have Naviance, check to see how many apps have historically been submitted from your HS, how many have been accepted and have many have enrolled. IMO, these are important stats to UMich too.

I got in on EA!
