I'd like to know my chances at UC San Diego and UC Berkeley.
Thanks!

Chances are pretty hard to say, even though you have a great GPA. The problem is that you will not be finishing the second & third Calculus course that are prereqs for both universities.

Berkeley chances are slim because your missing the calculus requirement, but I’d say your in at SD. I got into SD and was missing all 3 calc classes. I took 2 of them during the summer and I’m taking the last one now. If you get in I would suggest you do the same. Take the last 2 calc classes at UCSD during the summer because you need to finish the series before you can take any of your Econ core classes.

USMC, what other classes are you taking now along with your calculus class? (since you said calculus is needed for the core classes). Also, do you know if UCSD will let me take calculus at my community college over the summer?

This is somewhat unrelated, but how are the fraternities at UCSD?

Im taking two upper division general ed classes that my college Thurgood Marshall requires for graduation. I was actually worried that I would only be taking Calc 3 my first quarter and nothing else but most colleges have one or two upper division ge’s that you have to take to graduate. You can also take electives. The econ electives and core classes required to graduate only add up to 52 quarter units. Most of us come in with 90-100 quarter units and you need 180 units to graduate, so there are random electives that you have to take anyway.

You can take classes at your cc during the summer but since you will need calc 2 and 3, you can get both knocked out at UCSD during the summer because UC’s have 2 summer sessions. If you do it at CC then you will need to take calc 3 your first quarter at UCSD, which isnt really a problem.

I have no clue about frats here because im old, married, and have kids. My wife wouldnt like me hanging out with 18-22 year olds and sorority girls. There are quite a few on campus but there is no greek housing on campus. Its all off campus.

UCSD pretty good chance, I have a friend that just got admitted to econ at UCSD (he didn’t take the required CALC series and instead took Calc for business majors because he didn’t know) and believe me, his GPA is much lower than yours.
CAL I’m not sure. Good luck!
